Electric cars have literally divided the whole world into two camps. Those who believe it is a much better and more environmentally friendly way to travel than by private car, and those who argue that it is not environmentally friendly at all. The makers of these cars themselves are beginning to question rather than to show their initial enthusiasm, whether the decision to abandon the development of the internal combustion engine was a step in the right direction. And many of them agree that it was not. There are many more problems with electromobility than the European Union in particular is telling us. And there is growing pressure from the EU to switch from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles.
The production of electric vehicles is not as environmentally friendly as we are told. To make such large batteries, large amounts of precious metals must be mined. Moreover, they are mined in places that disturb and destroy the landscape around the mining sites. And the destruction is irreversible.
Charging is a chapter unto itself. The problem is that people charge their electric cars more often than they fill up their internal combustion engine cars. When an electric car enthusiast states that his electric car is the best he has ever driven in every way, this is not entirely true, as long as the manufacturer himself says it.

The problem lies primarily in how these cars are forced upon us. Let everyone be free to decide what they want to drive. It is nonsense to “subsidize” people to buy these cars. A subsidy is simply the government taking more money from you, the taxpayer, and giving it to the people who buy the cars. Even firefighters admit that turning off an electric car is not easy. So, so far, there seems to be more than enough downside to this sector of automobiles. Of course we need to somehow deal with the depletion of fossil fuels and reduce the destruction of the planet. But is it really the right way to force people to buy electric cars when the leaders of the European Union are talking about how nature is being destroyed by plastic straws in Europe, when they fly jets to summits miles away, while third world countries think the environment doesn\’t matter? Is this really the right way to go?
