I love computers and find it really hard to imagine spending time without them. Try to picture it in your mind like this. What do you do? For example, what would you do if you didn\’t have a computer every morning or afternoon, or if you came home from school and wanted to play a game? Logically, of course, if you didn\’t know the power and fun of computers, tablets, MacBooks, and cell phones, you wouldn\’t miss them at all. But if you were into it or enjoyed it, you might. Or if you were working or studying because of the computer and then all of a sudden the computer is no longer available, that would be a real shame.
I think it would probably drive many people crazy. I have tried detoxing from technology for two days. Of course, I had to keep my cell phone with me at all times. Because obviously you can\’t procrastinate if you get a call from your son or your sick mother. Plus, I wear an alarm clock and have an online calendar. So I write down important things there, but I managed to be without a computer for two days. I know it\’s not a big deal, but it was really hard for me. I had to talk myself out of it a lot, it\’s really hard and difficult to quit smoking from one day to the next, but I quit for two whole days.
Some people detox from technology for a month or even a week. Frankly, I personally can\’t do that, and I don\’t want to try it here. I\’m glad that I detached myself from technology and information technology and stuck it out for two days. I am proud of that. Many people can\’t do that. Many people say they can only endure 10 or 11 hours at most. I don\’t know about you, but would you try it? Also, would you try going two days without a computer or laptop? That would really relieve you and clear your mind.
