The advantage here is that it is relatively far from the Czech border. You will be skiing for at least a full week, but on a long weekend it is not worth it to go because you will spend a whole day on the way there. If I\’m lucky and don\’t get stuck in traffic on the way, it could be a bit longer. I
visited Montafonin the summer and was disappointed that I could only stay a week; even with a one year old, it was a wonderful vacation that I will never forget. Unless you are into mountain climbing, you might want to leave your bike at home. You will probably have to get around on foot, by car, or by cable car. You can combine high-altitude hiking with swimming pools, or you can take the cable car up to one of the peaks and just enjoy the view while sitting on the terrace of a restaurant with a great view, drinking good beer and tasting delicious local cuisine. Rest assured that the prices are not exorbitant.
There are several lakes in the area that are definitely worth seeing:Lake LünerseeandLake Silvrettasee, where it is easy to circle the lake on a designated trail or take a side trip to the glacier or nearby mountains. 23] To Silvrettasee [21 can be reached on theSilvretta Hochalpenstrasse. Motorcyclists prefer this road, which has many curves. At the highest point, there is a parking lot, a restaurant for refreshments, and a hike around the area. [If you are lucky, you can see marmots, chamois, and herds of cattle, sheep, and goats grazing freely in the meadows.
