Take a different kind of holiday. Pack your backpack or backpack and go on a classic backpacking trip. Backpacking is probably an acronym from the past. It was a popular recreational activity for children, the so-called travel camp. Kids traveled from place to place on foot and learned many outdoor survival skills. They could set up tents in camp style, supply water, cook, etc.
Nobody wants that. We just need a separate transition. There are huts every few minutes in the mountains where you can eat, drink, and sleep if you or your children are tired.
These huts can be used for sleeping, but don\’t do it. Or rather, don\’t do it to your children. The sleepovers will be unforgettable and must be an amazing bonding experience for the family. The kids will know that dad is not just a dry manager, but quite knowledgeable. Mom, on the other hand, will cook very tasty meals in the field, and the family bond will be further strengthened by talking together under the stars.
What you need to pack A completely lightweight sleeping bag is sufficient for summer and good forecast days. Temperatures seldom fall below 15°C (59°F), and a sweater will do. Focus more on your sleeping pad. Adults not used to sleeping on hard ground can use an automatically inflating mat. The question always remains about tents. While tents provide privacy and a sense of relative safety, they are usually quite a heavy burden; three kilograms is a lot of weight. For this reason, it is sufficient to use a large tarp between trees or just use hiking poles.
It is possible to cook over a fire, but no open fires are allowed in the protected areas or reserves. Therefore, a gas or gasoline tourist stove should be prepared.
And where to go? Anywhere. Plateau tours are easy, and there are many opportunities for swimming. Mountains, on the other hand, offer a completely different feeling. Just looking at the scenery in the distance enhances the feeling that you are doing something special. After all, make plans with your children and follow their wishes.
