IT technology has experienced a major boom in recent years. This is according to a study by ManpowerGroup 2020. According to it, IT cybersecurity professionals and network administrators are among the most in-demand professions today. Despite this, there is a huge salary gap in the IT industry: there is no such thing as an “IT technician. Service technicians earn an average of 31,923 kroner, while software engineers can earn 56,768 kroner. At least, that is what the profesia.cz portal says.
Moreover, more and more IT workers are no longer full-time employees, but freelancers. Not last but not least, especially since they earn many times more, they can choose their own projects, which for many is more important than money.
What is the most desirable profession?
If you are hesitant about which path to take, you can\’t go wrong if you focus on web and mobile platforms. On average, such employees earn a gross income of $50,000, and in some cases, especially in Prague, the salary can be double that. the IT world is changing rapidly, and many startups have changed the world in just a few years. Examples include Facebook, Instagram, Uber, and Airbnb.
According to the Profesia website, the number of IT security specialists is on the rise. By all accounts, cyber defense will reign supreme for some time. Salaries in this field are already above average and are expected to continue growing.

The Czech Republic is even second from the bottom in this ranking. So far, IT seems to be a job primarily for men. However, several companies are trying to break this stereotype by organizing workshops for women.
