Every time I see a van with the logo of a famous grocery chain on our street, I think how lazy people are nowadays to even go shopping. But I quickly reconsidered this opinion. There is not a single grocery store on my commute route from home to school, I have missed picking up my son from practice for grocery shopping on several occasions, I stay active on weekends and holidays, and I get home on Sunday nights. Where can I devote the time to go to the hypermarket at least once a week? And I really don\’t want to spend the little time I have left in a store full of people. Because of this, I decided to shop at an online grocery store for the first time.
My first order was long and tedious. Of course, anything you do for the first time has to take that into account; navigating the e-store and finding the ordering system took some time. All items are always delivered in order, frozen foods are not thawed, fruits are not damaged, etc. Honestly, as far as the selection of fruits and vegetables, I personally would have preferred a cleaner selection, but that is something I can turn a blind eye to. The only drawback is the so-called substitutions. You only find out that the item you ordered is not in the store when you receive it. However, you will be sent another product that is as similar as possible to the one you ordered, and it is up to you to accept the substitution.
Delivery charges range from 39,- to 89,- CZK, depending on the time of day and the timing of the appointment. As a working person, I have so far been able to make afternoon and evening reservations without any problems and at reasonable rates. However, these rates are more than acceptable considering the many benefits and the savings in my time and nerves.
